Our first team is our flagship that has been testing the waters of German’s top league, the 1. Bundesliga, for seven years now. It was a rugged crew of Floorball newcomers which paved their way to the top of German Floorball a few years ago – a journey that required full dedication and great ambition. A third place in their first season in the 1. Bundesliga as well as reaching the cup final in 2016 mark the highlights of the team’s young history. Throughout the recent seasons, the team is undergoing a youth movement and sees more and more additions of youngsters that learned their trade from the bottom up in the youth teams of the club. The play of Kaufering is rarely flashy but it’s the never-surrender attitude and the performance as a tight-knit unit that is our DNA. Becoming a regular mainstay in the German top league is the overriding goal we set for ourselves. At the U19’s and Men’s World Championships Red Hocks players make appearances on a regular basis and go head-to-head with the world’s elite.
In order to achieve these goals the players toil in at least three practices per week. The fact that the closest road game takes the team to Chemnitz emphasizes not only the financial challenges but also how much time the Red Hocks are willing to dedicate to their passion.
The effort of the players goes beyond giving their all in practices and games and sacrificing hours of their time on the bus to get to road games. Our Bundesliga players also dedicate their time to support Kaufering’s floorball division for example as referees, youth coaches or in various other helping roles behind the scenes – everyone contributes their part to the success of the club. The greatest asset of the Red Hocks are their fans! Nowhere else in Germany you will find a higher attendance and a crowd with great energy on a regular basis than in Kaufering. Thank you to our crowd for this!
